Sinobuhle, a passionate chef, began her culinary journey by helping her mother in the kitchen. With a desire to turn her love for cooking into a career, she honed her skills by watching cooking shows and YouTube videos. “I wanted to do something that I enjoy, without the pressure of traditional work,” she shares.
Inspired by her late father, who secured tenders for supplying nutrition in schools, Sinobuhle saw an opportunity to create a catering business. “I thought that if I could open a catering company, I could apply for tenders to supply food in schools or even cook for the kids,” she explains. Having a teaching qualification, she felt at home in the educational environment, stating, “I love being around kids and schools.”
Sinobuhle founded Igugu Lamabhada Projects in 2002, but it was after her father’s passing in 2003 that she began investing more seriously in her business. Despite challenges in securing sponsorship and funding for her dream of owning a restaurant, she remains committed to her vision. Currently, she is actively applying for nutrition tenders to grow her business.

Among her notable achievements, Sinobuhle had the honor of cooking for the legendary Thokoza Somnandi Langa during a photoshoot for Beads Magazine. She also successfully catered a large funeral in eMpangeni, showcasing her ability to deliver under pressure.
Sinobuhle’s journey is a testament to her resilience and passion for cooking, as she continues to pursue her dream of making a lasting impact in the culinary world.
