For Sinenhlanhla Luthuli, makeup is more than just a skill—it’s a passion that allows her to connect with people and enhance their natural beauty. As the founder of Sne’s Makeover, a growing beauty business, she has turned her love for makeup into a side hustle while pursuing another qualification. However, her ultimate dream is to venture fully into the beauty industry, a path she has been passionate about since her matric year.
Sinenhlanhla’s journey began in high school when she started offering makeup services to her neighbors on weekends. Even then, she knew makeup would one day become a professional pursuit. Although business is slow at times, she remains dedicated to sharpening her skills and staying motivated. “The beauty industry is competitive, but there’s space for everyone. I focus on improving my craft rather than getting discouraged,” she says.
Her mission with Sne’s Makeover is simple: to help people look and feel their best. She values client satisfaction, always ensuring they have the opportunity to request final touches before leaving her chair. One of the challenges she faces is last-minute cancellations, which led her to introduce a 30% non-refundable deposit policy to secure appointments and maintain professionalism.
Despite the ups and downs of entrepreneurship, Sinenhlanhla finds strength in the support of her best friend, the owner of Igugulamabhanda Project. She’s also grateful for the positive experiences she’s had with clients, having never encountered a rude one. With determination and a growing skill set, she continues to build her brand, proving that persistence and passion are key in the beauty industry.
Sne’s Makeover is not just about makeup—it’s about confidence, self-expression, and the artistry of transformation. And for Sinenhlanhla, this is just the beginning.
