In the heart of his hometown, 22-year-old Khulasande Tembe has turned a simple pair of clippers into a tool of transformation. Growing up in a community where opportunities are scarce, he found passion in cutting hair at just 16, practicing on friends and family. What began as a hobby soon grew into a skill that set him apart.
After finishing school, Khulasande decided to take his gift seriously, setting up a small corner shop with just one chair and a mirror. “Challenges will always be there, but your determination must be stronger” he said that motivating youth. Today, his barbershop has become a lively hub where young and old gather not only for haircuts but also for conversation and connection.
Despite challenges such as limited resources and competition, Khulasande remains motivated by the smiles of his clients. He dreams of expanding his business, training other young barbers, and showing that determination can create opportunity. For him, every haircut is more than a style, it’s a symbol of confidence and hope.
