The KwaZulu-Natal Department of Sport, Arts and Culture, led by MEC Mntomuhle Khawula, is gearing up to kickstart the journey toward recognizing eMakhosini as a World Heritage Site. This exciting news comes after Deputy Minister Ms. Peace Mabe urged the province to breathe new life into the initiative.
eMakhosini, nestled between Ulundi and Babanango in northern KwaZulu-Natal, is a historical gem, home to the final resting places of seven Zulu kings. It’s also the site of uMgungundlovu, King Dingan’s Palace, now preserved under Amafa KwaZulu-Natal.
MEC Khawula is on board with Deputy Minister Mabe’s vision and is ready to champion this important cultural heritage. Stay tuned as this initiative unfolds!
